How do I open a secure message?

When opening a Send It Secure message you may be prompted to verify your identity. The method used to verify your identity is chosen by the sender of the message unless you are a registered user of Send It Secure. If you are a registered user, you will be prompted to sign in with your Send It Secure username and password. If you are not a registered user, you will be prompted to verify your identity by answering a question chosen by the sender, through an automated phone call or text message, or by creating a free Send It Secure account.  

If you are required to answer a question, please note that the question and answer are chosen by the sender. If you are required to verify a phone number, please note that the phone number is entered by the sender. If you do not know the answer to the question or the phone number is incorrect, you must contact the sender of the message to provide you with the answer or to send a new message with your correct phone number.

Steps to open a secure message

When opening a secure message you may be prompted to verify your identity. 
  1. Go to your email Inbox (e.g. Outlook, Gmail, etc.)
  2. Locate the Send It Secure message notification
  3. Click on the View Message button to open the secure message

  4. You will be redirected to the Send It Secure web portal to view your secure message
  5. You may be prompted to verify your identity with one of the options below.
