Make sure Send It Secure notifications reach you
When someone sends you a secure message, Send It Secure emails you a notification so you know to open it. If those notifications land in spam — or don't arrive at all — it's usually because your email provider hasn't recognized our sender yet. Adding us as a safe sender fixes that for future messages.
The address to allow is:
no-reply@protectedtrust.com
Find your email app
The exact steps depend on where you read your email. Pick yours:
- Outlook or Microsoft 365 — see Add Send It Secure as a safe sender in Outlook & Microsoft 365.
- Gmail — see Add Send It Secure as a safe sender in Gmail.
- Another email app — use the general steps below.
General steps (any email app)
However your email app labels it — "safe senders," "allowed senders," "never block," or simply your contacts — the goal is the same: tell your email that no-reply@protectedtrust.com is trusted.
- Open your email app's junk, spam, or safe-sender settings (or your contacts/address book).
- Add no-reply@protectedtrust.com as a safe sender or a saved contact.
- Save your changes.
A quick trick that works in most apps
Sending a message to our address teaches many email systems to trust it:
- Compose a new, regular email (not a secure one).
- Send it to no-reply@protectedtrust.com with the subject Test.
- Open your Sent folder, right-click that message, and choose Junk > Never Block Sender (or your app's equivalent).
Then send yourself a secure message as a test to confirm the notification arrives.
Still not getting notifications?
If notifications still don't arrive, your organization's email security may be quarantining them before they reach your inbox. Your IT team can allow our sender at the server level and release any messages that were already held. If you'd like us to confirm that a notification was delivered to your mail server, just contact us — we can check our delivery logs and help.
