What to do if you get an error during SSO sign-in

If you see an error while signing in with Single Sign-On (SSO), the specific error details are usually included right in the page's web address (URL). Capturing that URL — along with the on-screen message — lets our support team pinpoint the cause quickly.

Capture the error

Hint: The URL of an SSO error page often contains the exact error code and description, which is the fastest way for support to diagnose the problem.

  1. When the error appears, leave the page open — don't close the tab or click Back.
  2. Click once in the browser's address bar to highlight the full web address (or press Ctrl+L, or Cmd+L on a Mac).
  3. Copy the entire URL (Ctrl+C, or right-click and choose Copy). It may be long — that's expected; the error details are contained in it.
  4. Note the exact error message shown on the page. A screenshot of the full page is helpful too.

Try a quick reset first

Many SSO errors are caused by a stale session or cached credentials. Before contacting us, try a fresh browser session and clearing the cached data for protectedtrust.com — see Troubleshooting Single Sign-On (SSO). If the error still appears, continue below.

Send it to support

Reply to this message, or email us at support@senditsecure.com, with the following, and we'll identify the specific error and get you signed in:

  • The full URL you copied from the error page.
  • The exact error message (or a screenshot).
  • The email address you were signing in with.
  • Your browser and version, and whether SSO is with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or SAML / AD FS.

Tip: email works best here so you can attach your screenshot directly — our contact form can't accept image attachments.

Note: The URL and error message may contain identifying details. It's fine to share these with our support team, but avoid posting them anywhere public.
