Apteryx XrayVision (XV) Integration Setup

Send x-rays and imaging securely straight from Apteryx XrayVision (XV), encrypted and HIPAA-compliant. XrayVision sends through your Windows default mail client, so once Send It Secure for Windows is installed and set as the default, XrayVision's email feature composes a secure message automatically — with your images attached.

How this integration works: XrayVision uses the Windows default mail client to send (MAPI), not SMTP. There are no SMTP settings to enter — you simply make Send It Secure for Windows your default mail client, and XrayVision's Email action does the rest.

Step 1 — Install Send It Secure for Windows and set it as your default mail client

1Install Send It Secure for Windows. Follow Send It Secure for Windows — How to Install.

2During installation, check “Make Protected Trust my default mail client.” This is what lets XrayVision send directly through Send It Secure.

3Finish the install and, if prompted, sign in with your Send It Secure email address and password.

Prefer to keep desktop Outlook as your mail client? You can instead leave that box unchecked and send through Outlook using the Send It Secure Outlook add-in. For the direct XrayVision integration, check the box as above.

Step 2 — Send a secure message from XrayVision

1In XrayVision, select the image or study you want to send and use its Email option.

2A Send It Secure compose window opens with your images already attached.

3Add the recipient, subject, and any message, then click Send. Your message and attachments are encrypted and delivered securely.

Troubleshooting

XrayVision's Email option doesn't open Send It Secure? Send It Secure may not be set as your default mail client. Reinstall using Run as administrator and check “Make Protected Trust my default mail client,” or set it as the default mail app in Windows Settings > Apps > Default apps, then restart the computer.
